Zacapa Centenario 23-Year-Old Gran Reserva is made from the highest quality virgin sugar cane honey, instead of the usual molasses. The rum matures at an altitude of 2300 meters in the "House above the clouds", where it uses the unique Sistema Solera maturation method. The process involves combining rums of different ages that mature in white oak casks that previously held robust American whiskeys, fine sherry and Pedro Ximénez wines. The result is a rum with a rich and complex flavor profile, including notes of caramel, vanilla, cocoa, dried fruit and spice.
