Yamazaki is one of the first Japanese distilleries founded in 1923 by Shinjiro Torii. This distillery, the main reference of Japanese whiskey, presented its first whiskey in 1929, which is a large part of its production is based on the import of malt.
Yamazaki 12 years is a simple whiskey made in the same way that packaging, fermentation, distillation and maturation. Aging is used in three types of barrels: Spanish oak (Jerez), American white oak and Japanese oak for 12 years to give the final mixture a unique taste and fruitiness.
The first Japanese whiskey is characterized by a creamy floral aroma with notes of tropical fruits, its taste is intense, silky and pleasant, where other more subtle flavors of spices and forest fruits are also perceived.
