Sir Edmond Gin

Sir Edmond Gin is produced in Schiedam, Holland by one of the best distilleries in the world: Herman Jansen. The family business started in 1777 and has been distilling spirits for almost 250 years. Creating a Bourbon vanilla infused gin didn't happen overnight. Countless combinations of ingredients were tested before the first bottles of Sir Edmond rolled off the production line. A whole year of talking to master distillers and making samples finally resulted in the perfect recipe.

Eight weeks. That's how long it takes to create the smoothest and finest gin imaginable, using only natural ingredients and high-quality alcohol. To give you an idea: "normal" gin can be made within 24 hours. So, what actually happens in those eight weeks? First, all the botanicals are distilled in two separate pot stills – except for the Bourbon vanilla, as distilling the vanilla at high temperature would destroy its flavor. Instead, it is infused in alcohol for six weeks. It is a cold brew that will ensure the release of more delicate and complex aromas. After mixing the two liquids, the mass is placed in a resting tank for a week to achieve perfect harmony. Distillation of juniper, angelica root, ginger, cardamom and cinnamon and an infusion of bourbon vanilla.
