Quinta do Tedo Vintage 1997 Port is a remarkable wine that represents the winery's first vintage of Port. 1997 was notable for its unusual climate with a dry and warm early spring followed by a wet and cool early summer, with the heat returning in full force in August, allowing for a quality crop. The wine is made from more than 18 grape varieties, among which Touriga Nacional dominates.
The wine matured for at least two years in large oak barrels, which allowed it to retain the complex aromas and rich colors that are typical of this type of wine. The wine has a deep ruby color with purple hues and offers a rich bouquet of ripe black fruits such as blackberries and black cherries, with a touch of elegance and complexity.
The flavor profile is rich and generous with soft yet pronounced tannins and a long finish that is ideal for enjoying on its own or as a complement to dark chocolate, strong cheeses or paired with family and friends who enjoy fine port wines.
