Oxley Cold Distilled London Dry Gin

This gin is made using the "cold distillation technique", which is very unusual. In normal gin distillation, the botanicals must be heated to about 78°C until they begin to boil and release all their flavors. Cold distillation, also known as vacuum distillation, creates a vacuum so that the plant ingredients are brought to a boil at 25-40°C. The plant substances remain untouched and only the alcohol is distilled. Oxley is distilled at -5°C – an extremely low temperature even for vacuum distillation. But that's what makes this gin special. For eight years, scientists worked on this method until it was ready for use. In 2009, this gin was first brought to the market by the owner of Bacardi.

This gin is only produced in small batches. 14 different botanicals are used in the production, including juniper, grapefruit, lemons, vanilla, anise, licorice root, cocoa, nutmeg and coriander.

The design of the bottle is also simple and elegant at the same time. The oblong bottle is spiced up with a green leather strap that ties around the bottle. The bottle stands up to the bottom third in a small silver container.
