Opthimus 21-Year-Old is distilled from the highest quality sugar cane grown in the Dominican Republic. After distillation, the rum undergoes a long-term aging process that lasts 21 years in carefully selected American white oak barrels that previously contained bourbon. This lengthy aging process in the tropical climate of the Dominican Republic allows the rum to develop deep and rich flavor profiles, including notes of vanilla, caramel, honey, dried fruit, chocolate and subtle spices.
