Laphroaig Quarter Cask is produced at the Laphroaig distillery, one of the most famous and respected distilleries on the island of Islay in Scotland. This whiskey is first matured in classic oak barrels after bourbon and then transferred to smaller "quarter cask" barrels, which increases the contact of the whiskey with the wood and enriches its flavor profile.
Aging in smaller casks, which are a quarter the size of regular casks, allows more contact between the whiskey and the oak. This process adds a richer and more intense flavor to the whiskey in a shorter maturation time. The whiskey is bottled with an alcohol content of 48%, which gives it a strong and distinctive character.
