Kavalan Distillery in Taiwan was founded in 2005 by TT Lee, president of the Taiwanese food conglomerate King Car Group. His biggest wish was to open his own whiskey distillery in Taiwan.
Kavalan is the name of the Yilan region, which lies southeast of the capital city of Taipei. An important reason for choosing this location is the excellent water quality. In Yilan, plenty of cold spring water flows through Snow Mountain. This whiskey belongs to the reference series.
Aged in first fill American oak barrels and then in various spare Kavalan barrels.
Color: Light gold.
Smell: Floral, sweet, tones of vanilla, coconut.
Taste: Tropical fruit, mango, tones of apples, cherries, honey, spices, grapes.
Conclusion: Long-lasting, complex.
