The Ron Cueva 1501 brand pays homage to the original Cueva tribe that inhabited the territory of present-day Panama. This tribe was discovered by Spanish conquistadors in 1501, which is reflected in the brand's name.
Ron Cueva 1501 is a tribute to these brave people and represents the best of the Panamanian rum tradition. The rum is made from 100% molasses from sugar cane grown in the ideal conditions of Panama. After fermentation in the humid Panamanian climate, the distillate is placed in American oak bourbon barrels, where it is aged in the solera system under the supervision of an experienced master blender.
