Casamigos Tequila Reposado is made from 100% Weber blue agave, grown in the Mexican state of Jalisco, in the Highlands, which contributes to its sweeter taste. Agaves are harvested by hand after 7-9 years of growth, when they reach optimal maturity. After harvesting, the agave hearts (piñas) are slowly baked in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours. The agaves are then ground and the juice fermented in stainless steel tanks for 80 hours, which is a longer process than many other tequilas and contributes to a richer taste. Double distillation takes place in small copper stills, which guarantees the purity and delicacy of the tequila. After distillation, Casamigos Reposado is aged for at least 7 months in American white oak barrels, which gives it subtle tones of caramel, vanilla and oak.
