Ardbeg An Oa is a single malt Scotch whiskey from the island of Islay that offers a unique and complex flavor profile. This whiskey is named after the Mull of Oa, a dramatic headland on the south-west coast of Islay known for its beauty and wildness. Ardbeg An Oa reflects this character in its rich and multifaceted profile.
The whiskey is created by combining whiskey that has been matured in different types of casks including Pedro Ximénez sherry casks, ex-bourbon casks and virgin oak casks. These whiskeys are then matched in the so-called Gathering Vate, a large wooden cask where the flavor profiles harmonize and create a complex and rich whiskey.
Nose: Rich and slightly smoky with hints of caramel, anise and molasses. It is complemented by hints of nuts, vanilla and citrus fruits.
Taste: Complex and creamy with distinct notes of peat smoke, licorice, honey and spice. The taste is balanced and slightly sweet, with hints of dark chocolate and bitter orange.
Finish: Long and satisfying with lingering notes of smoke, sweetness and subtle spice. The finish is smooth and warm, making every sip unforgettable.
